A word from the artist

Filipino textiles are the testament of the unwavering spirit of the Filipino people even way before colonization. The exhibit will feature the modern use of textiles such as the T'nalak (Tboli tribe), Panubok (Panay Bukidnon tribe), Inaul (Maguindanao tribe), and more. Guests will also get to experience weaving the basahan (Filipino rag) which Filipinos use as a multi-purpose rag in the household. With the use of repurposed clothes, guests will learn how Filipinos upcycle unwanted clothes into the basahan which is commonly sold in the streets or in the market.
