Alex Jyn-Li Cairns

Director

Alex Jyn-Li Cairns (she/her) is a voice over actor, host, director, and producer based out of Toronto. With a BFA in Theatre from York University and a Diploma in Broadcasting from Durham College, Alex has worked on both sides of the camera telling stories since 2017. Currently a producer/host on TSN’s The Shift with Kayla Grey and the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Marlies, she loves working in sports, telling meaningful stories and engaging with the community. Alex is half Chinese and proud to represent the mixed-race voice in the industries she works in. She is passionate about amplifying BIPOC and LGQTQ2S+ voices and hopes to continue to share her love of storytelling with the students at York.

Heba Azeef

Stage Manager

Heba Azeef is a 3rd year BCOM information technology student. She is thrilled to return to VCP for the 3rd year as the stage manager for the BIPOC Artist Hub. Heba is a virtual reality artist, web designer, and enjoys helping in backstage production. She aims to share her experiences and South Indian-Canadian heritage through her art and working with others to do the same. She is looking forward to growing and working with amazing people this season!

Shade Fearon

Assistant Stage Manager

Shade is a fourth-year Business and Society student with a fondness for the arts and trying new things. She is excited to partake in the VCP Crew this year as the 2nd Assistant Stage Manager for BIPOC Artist Hub. The people, the projects and the lessons are all a thrill and blessing to her, and she can’t wait for others to see the beautiful showcases in store this year.

Qjiel Giuliano Mikhl Mariano

Qjiel is a newcomer to Canada navigating what it means to be a settler in traditional territories. He brings his Filipino heritage to encourage spaces to be taken up by the BIPOC community. His time in the Philippines is all about the art of giving to the underrepresented where he dedicated most of his weekends volunteering with children living inside a cemetery. You will witness how to journal and capture powerful human stories while sharing them to the public to make a meaningful impact for the community

Diviya Jain

Assistant Stage Manager

Divya Jain is a 4th year student studying accounting. This is her first time being part of Vanier Productions and she is super excited to see what it has in store! She has always loved helping out with backstage work for events and she is super thrilled to act as an Assistant Stage Manager for this year’s BIPOC Artist Hub!

Abi Muraleetharan

Abi is a second-year Health Management student. She is excited to be back at VCP for Show Choir and the BIPOC Artist Hub. Her appreciation and passion for performing stems from a young age, where she always got involved in concert choir, theatrical performances, and dance. She also enjoys performing kuthu dance, a proud element of hers as a Tamil Canadian and hopes to help increase South Asian representation in theatre. She is so excited to be working with an amazing group of people.

Ayokunmi Oladesu

Ayokunmi is a third-year film production student. She is excited to be at VCP for her third year and to be a work-study for the first time as the Production and Inclusion Manager for this company! Along with that, she is thrilled to be a part of Bring it On: The Musical as Danielle and the Costume Consultant. She’s also excited to be reuniting with the BIPOC Artist’s Hub for its third year! She has had previous experience as a Stage Manager for VCP’s Labyrinth of Desire and Shifting Ground Collective’s Ordinary Days. Her love for theatre and art only continues to grow.

Hiromune Kubayashi

Hiro is a Japanese entertainer currently in the second year of the Digital Media program. This marks his second year participating in the Show Choir at VCP. Additionally, he showcases his talent by playing piano free improvisations at the BIPOC Artist Hub. Hiro is known for his ever-present smile, radiating energy to both the audience and fellow VCP members. In his major studies, Hiro focuses on creating an audio visualizer using MaxMSP. His goal is to produce digital art creations for application in theaters and theme parks.

N.D. Jia Paonessa

N.D. Jia is a Digital Media student, game developer, livecoder, and interactive media artist. They are an executive member of Game Devs at YorkU, part of the Creative Code Toronto group of creative technologists, and perpetually trapped in the intersection of art and technology. N.D. Noel (Leo) Pham

Noel, also known as Leo, Pham is a first year Theatre student with a passion in visual arts. They have been drawing for as long as he can remember, and still enjoys doing it whenever he has the time to. By default, it is his first year of partaking in any Vanier College production, but is still happy to be here. He is excited to showcase his talents in the BIPOC Artist Hub this year and see what the other artists have in store!

Brandi Chen

Brandi (They/She/He) in their second year of CCY and Concurrent Education. They are excited to be a part of VCPs BIPOC Artist Hub and Show Choir. Show casing their art work in this club is a exciting and new experience.

Natanyah Wilkinson

Nat (she/her) is a Blasian (Black-Chinese) second year Gender & Womens' Studies major. She is so happy to be a part of the BIPOC Artist Hub, assistant stage manager for VCP's Dance Collective, and to play Nautica in VCP's Being It On.

Tina Goli

Tina Goli is a returning member of the BIPOC Art hub, which she is super excited for! She loves combining different styles and themes together to create unique pieces for others to see and engage with. She is in her second year of visual arts and art history at York and loves to do creative worldbuilding/writing, volunteer and walking/working in nature in her spare time.

Tiara Tirei

Tiara is a 2nd-year Communications and Media studies student returning to BIPOC Hub and Vanier College Productions for her second year! Originally from Zimbabwe and the U.S., Tiara has lived in Canada for the last 5 years partially under precarious status. Tiara is proud to explore another aspect of her life story and creativity this year and for years to come.
